The Madonna was deaccessioned by the University of Chicago from their Smart Museum to the Kalo Foundation in November 2013. A professional art moving company removed it from the Museum on December 3 and delivered it to the Iannelli Studios Heritage Center on Friday, December 6, 2013. It was crated in its three major pieces, as it was sculpted and placed in the corner of the Studios. The mid-section is standing without its crate; the other two pieces are still safely crated. We invited donors and friends to view the statue on Sunday, December 8.
